Description

'Oceanograf' is a specialized research vessel owned of the Faculty of Oceanography and Geography (University of Gdańsk), which home port is Gdynia. This is one of the most modern research vessels operating in the Baltic Sea region, which can also be used for commercial purposes.
The ship has an integrated instrument set for the collection of samples as well as for the analysis of interactions and processes occurring at the atmosphere-sea-water interface and in the water column. The research vessel enables interdisciplinary studies of the marine environment, including: hydroacoustic measurements for non-invasive studies of the structure and type of sediment and the shape of the seabed, collection of sediment cores, samples of biological material and assessment of the state of biological resources.

The ship's equipment includes:
1. BD FACSJazz flow cytometer
2. Multibeam echosounder model SeaBat 7125 SV2
3. Side Scan Sonar model 4200P
4. Sub-bottom profiler model 3100P with Towfish SB-216S
