MALDI

Platform enabling high-throughput, targeted analysis of nucleic acids without the use of fluorescent markers, using mass spectrometry to detect the end products of PCR reactions. MassARRAY enables precise, fast and cost-effective genetic analyzes thanks to the unique combination of MALDI-TOF technology, dedicated reagent kits and advanced in silico analysis. MassARRAY allows for 96-well plate format studies and the analysis of multiple PCR products in one reaction (up to 40 SNPs in one reaction).

The laboratory offers a wide range of services related to the analysis of nucleic acids: purification and quality control of nucleic acids, genotyping (single nucleotide polymorphisms, microsatellites); detection of mutations with increased sensitivity, including analysis of free circulating DNA (so-called liquid biopsies), DNA methylation analysis, quantitative analysis of gene expression, pathogen detection, identification of microorganisms.

MALDI (Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization) spectrometer, which enables the analysis of mainly proteins, peptides, but also small molecules using a properly selected matrix. Mass measurement with high accuracy allows the use of a spectrometer to confirm the mass of peptides, whole proteins (Intact Mass Spectrometry). Fast and reliable identification of proteins after gel digestion is possible thanks to the MS/MS fragmentation spectra analysis in ProteinPilot - an excellent solution for proteomic analyzes.

The laboratory is equipped with three AB Sciex mass spectrometers: MALDI TOF / TOF 5800, TripleTOF 5600+, QTRAP 6500, as well as the CESI 8000 Plus (Sciex) capillary electrophoresis system.
