Description

Realizer SLM 100 - Selective Laser Melting (SLM) 3D printing machine, prepared for the manufacturing of metal parts from scratch, with powder bed fusion technology, to obtain extremely complex geometries (including internal cavities and thin walls) with reasonably good accuracy and surface qualities. The Realizer SLM 100 works by depositing metallic powder onto a build platform. A fibre laser which can used with a power up to 100W melts the metallic powder. After that the build platform is indexed down and a new layer can be melted. The system is mainly used to support and advance research into metallic additive manufacturing. Materials such as stainless steel, gold, Inconel, aluminium and titanium can be selectively melted.

Access rules

The rules of using the equipment will be consistent with the research infrastructure management system being developed. The elements of this system include the method of reporting the demand for the performance of tests, the appointment of a person responsible for the performance of the tests, and the rules governing the intellectual property of the results. An element of the system will also be the settlement for the performed tests, allowing for free testing (in the case of joint publication or on the basis of reciprocity using the apparatus).
