The Monolith NT.115 Blue/Red uses microscale thermophoresis (MST) technology to measure the interaction between a fluorescently labeled sample and a ligand even under near-native conditions. The interaction is measured in solution (without immobilization) using a temperature gradient over time. The M.O.Control software automatically calculates the binding affinity (KD) from the fitted curves on a plot of fluorescence versus ligand concentration. The Monolith analysis is fast (takes 15 minutes) and requires only small amounts of sample (4 µl per capillary). The high sensitivity of the equipment makes it possible to study the binding of single ions (40 Da) or small molecule compounds (300 Da). In addition, the binding of large complexes such as ribosomes (2.5 MDa) can also be tested. Monolith NT.115 Red / Blue has the ability to excite fluorescence at 460-480 nm and 600-650 nm wavelengths, while fluorescence detection can occur at 510-530 nm and 675-690 nm. https://biotech.ug.edu.pl/sites/default/files/_nodes/strona-biotechnolo…
