Two-dimensional liquid chromatograph coupled with an ion mobility spectrometer with a time-of-flight analyzer and a single quadrupole (Agilent 1290 Infinity II 6560 Ion Mobility LC / QTOF)
The system enables, among others achieving a chromatographic separation of the test sample, thanks to the use of two pumps, and the ability to precisely "cut" the separated substances in the first dimension and transfer them to the second dimension, for example to check the purity of the substances. The use of an ion mobility spectrometer allows obtaining data such as the drift time of individual ions and the so-called CCS (collision cross section), which can be translated as the cross-sectional area of a molecule.
